High Holy Days 2023
We would love to have you and your family, friends and loved ones of all ages join us as we welcome the New Year 5784! We will still have virtual options for you to join us online if you are traveling or feeling under-the-weather and are looking forward to seeing you in-person to say Shana Tovah!
One (1) ticket per attendee regardless of age is required and tickets are complimentary. Your ticket will provide you access to all main HHD services at Temple Beth-El. All main services will also be streamed only if you would prefer to join us virtually.
NOTE: There are a few experiences that will require additional registration so pay careful attention to those events/programs. Experiences that require additional registration are childcare, Tashlich/Shabbat Shuvah and Break the Fast.

We are so excited to see you for High Holy Days this year and know that each person at Temple Beth-El has a unique way to connect with others. During this High Holy Day season we have identified the most important areas where the Temple Beth-El community can welcome warmly, support efficiently and keep safe those that will be coming through our doors. We have guests who may enter for the first time, for the first time in a long time or may be regular Temple attendees. As part of the TBE HHD Volunteer Team, you will be responsible for intentionally creating an inviting, safe and welcoming atmosphere to each person you come in contact with.

TASHLICH & SHABBAT SHUVAH**
(Friday, September 22, 2023)

- 5:30pm Tashlich (offsite at a member's home) - cast our "sins" into Tampa Bay in a meaningful and inspiring ceremony for the High Holy Days
- 6pm Shabbat Shuvah - (offsite at a member's home) Join Rabbi Mangold for Shabbat Service between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur; this service will not be livestreamed and will be in-person only
KOL NIDRE
(Sunday, September 24, 2023)
- 7pm Main Service - On the Eve of Yom Kippur, Kol Nidre takes its name from the dramatic prayer that begins the observance of the Day of Atonement. Steeped in tradition, and illuminated by contemporary interpretive poetry, this service preserves what in ancient and casts it into the modern world in which we live. This service will be streamed on our Livestream webpage, Facebook & YouTube channel.
YOM KIPPUR
(Monday, September 25, 2023)
- 9am Children's Service - (A ticket will be required for each person attending regardless of age.) A Yom Kippur service geared toward children and youth reflecting on the theme of forgiveness with Torah stories and songs led by Rabbi Mangold and Barbara Mazer. A parent or guardian must remain present.
- 10:30am Main Service - This service gives us the opportunity to reflect on our actions as we strive to make our lives a blessing through holy living. This service will be streamed on our Livestream webpage, Facebook & YouTube channel.
- 10am to 1:15pm Childcare - Childcare options have been closed at this time. Please contact Dan Berman at the TBE office or Dan@TempleBeth-El.com for details.
- 1pm Yizkor - Immediately following the morning service, this annual Memorial Service provide the traditional space to remember loved ones who died in the past year, and those who once lived and left a legacy for us to treasure. During this service you will receive your annual Book of Remembrance. This service will be streamed on our Livestream webpage, Facebook & YouTube channel.
- 2pm Social Justice Forum - "Ideas for Affordable Housing in St. Pete" with community organizer, writer and statistician, James Trimarco. Your Eventbrite ticket will provide access to this experience. This experience will be streamed on our Livestream webpage, Facebook & YouTube channel.
- 4:30pm Afternoon Service & Neilah- Yom Kippur is a day with spiritual practices and prayers that take us through the cycle of life. To live guided by our values and be our highest self. The Afternoon & Neilah service offer the uplifting experience that takes us out of the depths and turns us toward the light of a new day. Together we will end the day with a final blast of the Shofar, as we hear the call and complete our return. This service will be streamed on our Livestream webpage, Facebook & YouTube channel.
- Break the Fast - **Your Eventbrite ticket does NOT cover attendance to this event. Separate registration is required HERE as space is limited. Immediately following the Afternoon & Neilah services - Registration is required as space is limited. Join us after the Neilah service to break the fast together as a community!

We will celebrate Tashlich at a member's home on the water followed by a musical Shabbat service in their home and a lovely oneg. Space is limited and registration will be required by September 15.
An Eventbrite ticket is required and will provide access to this experience.
Join us in the Sanctuary for our annual Social Justice Forum during Yom Kippur Afternoon. This year our guest speaker is James Trimarco. James is a community organizer, writer, and statistician based in St. Petersburg, FL. He has helped to lead local groups and win several key housing reforms in St. Pete. Previously, he was an editor in YES! Magazine in Seattle.
Your Eventbrite ticket does not cover registration for Break the Fast however each person, regardless of age, must ALSO have an Eventbrite ticket to attend the Yom Kippur Afternoon/Neilah services.
