Temple Beth-El congregants are invited by Gulf Coast JFCS Refugee Services to participate in a family-friendly morning of service benefiting refugee clients.

In honor of the recent holiday of Sukkot, we are creating care packages to “welcome the stranger.” Each congregant, or their family, will be given a client’s wish list and invited to select and gather items from available donated items to ensure our newest neighbors truly feel like our honored guests, our ushpizin, and welcomed to our community. Before the wish fulfillment begins, attendees will learn about the refugee resettlement process locally. Water and light snacks will be provided.

Fleeing danger, fathers, mothers, and entire families arrive in Tampa Bay often with little more than the clothes on their backs, from thousands of miles away equipped with hope, determination, and employable skills…they just need OUR hand up. Your contributions will help fill gaps in funding immediate and essential resettling needs for all refugee families as they build their life in the United States.
