Boomers Brain Health

Every day, the team of PACT has dedicated researchers working to find ways to prevent dementia, such as Alzheimer's disease. Jennifer O'Brien, PhD, is the Associate Professor for the Department of Psychology at USF in St. Petersburg.

She will conduct a 40-minute presentation on brain health in later life that will be intriguing and informative. Our hope is that you walk away feeling a little more knowledgeable and with a few new tricks to keep your mind sharp!

Dr. Jennifer O'Brien is a faculty member in the Psychology Department at the University of South Florida. She has been conducting research and teaching about attention and cognition for over 15 years and has published numerous peer-reviewed articles on topics of older adult cognitive decline and cognitive training. She is an investigator on the Preventing Alzheimer's with Cognitive Training (PACT) clinical trial.

Some points of our discussion will be:
- What happens to cognition as we age
- Risk factors for cognitive decline
- Benefits of cognitive training
- Research opportunities to prevent dementia

As this event is indoors, a mask will be required for anyone age 3+ regardless of vaccination status. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
