Engagement - Our mission

We are Temple Beth-El, a welcoming Reform community for Jewish and interfaith households to experience an uplifting and joyful sense of belonging. We accommodate all who seek to celebrate Shabbat and holidays and to be included and empowered as they learn and develop a modern-day Jewish lifestyle. Our mindful approach is enjoyed openly within a beautiful and dynamic space that welcomes you.

WE ARE EXCITED YOU DESIRE TO BE A PART OF THE INCREDIBLE COMMUNITY OF TEMPLE BETH-EL!
WE WANT TO KNOW HOW TO SERVE YOU BEST AND HOW WE CAN CONNECT YOU TO THE COMMUNITY SO PLEASE TAKE A FEW MOMENTS AND COMPLETE THE INTEREST FORM below.

Once you complete this form, you will be contacted by our Executive Director, Gerri Madenberg, who will go over all-things-engagement at TBE. While we do have a Recommended Engagement Commitment, membership will not be denied based on economic ability. Please be comfortable to speak confidentially with Gerri regarding any financial concerns you may have.

What is a Community Engagement Commitment?
It is the old membership dues renewal form. While the language may be initially puzzling, the intent is to help everyone rethink how we view your relationship with the congregation.

In the old model, membership was viewed as a transaction where you paid dues and received a service, like joining a gym or a country club. In the new model, we want the experience to be relational where you engage with others and form meaningful relationships. Engaging with your Jewish community is the driver for belonging, not simply evaluating what services I will receive in exchange for paying dues. The true value is engaging with your community.
