WORSHIP and SPIRITUALITY
Worshipping at Temple Beth-El provides a range of opportunities for our members to find a warm embrace as they journey toward an experience of God, community and our tradition. Through both inspiring and joyful music, through the exploration of both the new and the old that our new siddur (prayerbook) makes possible, and through the communal observance of festivals and simchas (celebrations), we hope that each of us will find a way to enter into the covenantal relationship and dialogue with the Holy One of Blessing. Weekly Shabbat services are offered in different styles for different ages and needs. From the very young through the elementary years and on into High School and adulthood, there is something here for everyone.
Recognizing different kinds of prayer needs enables us to create different prayer opportunities, including an early Erev Shabbat Family service, “Friday Night Live,” (a ‘Rockin’ Shabbat), as well as both traditional Reform services, and contemporary Shabbat evenings. Shabbat morning includes Torah study (led by either the rabbi or a skilled lay leader) the morning Shabbat liturgy and a Torah Reading. The full festival calendar provides numerous opportunities for affirming both the joy of the holidays as well as the need for memorial tributes at our Yizkor services, which occur at four times during the year.
