Art Festival Temple Beth-El is a unique exhibition experience.

Art Festival Beth-El is an invitational, judged, indoor exhibit and sale of original artwork including painting, photography, mixed media, glass, sculpture, metal, wood, ceramics, and jewelry. Invitations are extended to 180 artists. Art is professionally installed in a gallery setting; 2-dimensional work is hung on 4'x8' pegboard panels or the wall; 3-dimensional work is displayed on pedestals.

Your attendance is welcome, but not necessary. Work may be dropped off or shipped. Unsold work is professionally packed, insured and return freight is paid by Art Festival Beth-El.

Trained docents and salespeople are available throughout the show.

2012 Art Festival Judge

This year’s judge Dr. Matthew McLendon, awarded over $7,000 in prize money to the outstanding artists in the show. Dr. McLendon currently serves as the Associate Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art at the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art in Sarasoata. An alumnus of Florida State University, he received Bachelor of Art degrees in both Art History and Music. While at FSU, he was the first intern in the department of Interpretation and Education at Tate Britain, London. After graduating 

Phi Beta Kappa, Dr. McLendon returned to London to study at the Courtauld Institute of Art, University of London where he received his MA and PhD. While studying in London, Dr. McLendon was asked back to Tate Britain to act as Interim Curator of Adult Learning and was responsible for the public programming surrounding the 2002 Turner Prize. A native Floridian, Dr. McLendon was appointed the first Curator of Academic Initiatives at The George D. and Harriet W. Cornell Fine Arts Museum, Rollins College prior to his appointment at the Ringling Museum. While at Rollins, Dr. McLendon taught courses on European avant-gardism and visual culture theory. As Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art for the Ringling Museum, he will teach graduate seminars for Florida State University through the Museum Studies Program.
